Besties shared the book, The Three Little Marranitos, to the students in Kinder through Fourth Grade. They loved our twist on a traditional fairy tale. We try to make it as interactive as possible so that the children become immersed in the literature.
Fifth Grade were the lucky students who got to help Besties with the Quince book. We asked them to provide feedback, offer suggestions for music, and the format of the book.

There were so many creative floats that the second graders paraded around the school!
Look at these happy faces at Aue! The principal, Ms. Silberschlag, knows how to Fiesta!! My twin, Mary Ann, handles all our book sales and Ms. O'Marah knows how to have fun!
Aue is a family affair. My sister Linda, is a library volunteer on Mondays and my nephew, Elliott, is a first grader. My niece, Jenny, attended our presentation and was introduced and we let the students know she is the main character from our Quince book.
Besties is always thrilled when the children show their respect and audience manners! The Aue students were the best!
Besties had a first to celebrate. Ms. O'Marah put our Bella books in the vending machine and it was a great feeling kmowing that the students can choose our book if their little hearts desire it!

Elrod's Fiesta Parade
April 10, 2026
Let the parade begin! Elrod held their anual Fiesta Parade and the school was colorfully decorated and ready for all the participants. Ms. Jennifer Flores, the school librarian, held a nice breakfast for everyone who was invited to walk the parade route!
Besties was invited to particpate after a very successful Author Visit a couple of weeks before. The students made Sally and I feel like rock stars!! What a fun environment the Elrod Eagles created for all those who made the parade a memorable one! There were the 2nd grade students who had their ShoeBox Parade, several school groups, the Humane Society, mascots from several schools and businesses, a Sheriff Constable group, and their Educator of the Year! What a celebration! Enjoy the pictures!
